Sony APS-C has suddenly become interesting
8

With the introduction of the A6100 and A6400 and the two new lenses, Sony APS-C has suddenly become a very interesting proposition again. I can think of two completely different paths to take, kinda like choose your own adventure, photography edition.

Path 1: the perfectionist

A6600 + 17-55 f/2.8 + 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3

A single body and two lenses is all one needs to do just about everything, and it will all fit in a small-medium mirrorless camera bag. The 17-55 is a do-it-all portrait and travel lens, the 70-350 will be great for those polar bear pics and even doubles as an almost macro lens.

Path 2: the reductionist

A6100 + Sigma f/1.4 trio (16mm, 30mm, 56mm)

A tiny setup consisting of one body and three relatively lightweight primes (not pancake - for some reason, these are still late in coming), able to shoot wide, normal, and telephoto all at wide aperture for those low-light moments (or to get a pretty decent blurry background), with eye and tracking AF to boot. Not quite as versatile as path 1, but for the world traveler, this is a great alternative.

Frankly, I am not even sure which is the better path. #2 sure is a lot cheaper though.
