Beep! Beep!
7

A visitor to our back yard this afternoon. Taken with my V3 and 70-300cx lens which were ready to go when the Greater Roadrunner showed up. It visits every month or two as it patrols the neighborhood looking for lizards and unwary birds to eat.

If I had still been shooting my D7200 with 200-500 zoom I would have needed to mount that on a serious tripod, get the rig out the door, and fiddle with the spot meter trying to get any photos before the bird moved on. But with the V3/70-300 rig I only had to grab it, go out the door, and crank up the exposure compensation until the exposure looked close enough in the EVF and shoot hand held.

Greater Roadrunner on the wall at the edge of the yard.

Pausing for a classic pose.

Considering if I was a threat or a meal.
