Best tool for white balance?

Hello,

Have been researching the various tools available and all seem to have downsides:

Grey cards - can't find one that I can trust is the correct grey.

X-rite and the disc - wouldn't mind about the price however they do not appear to be particularly robust. I'd expect it to be virtualyl bombproof at that price.

Datacolor spydercheck 24 - this looks interesting. Is it robust and worth the £44?

Have tried the hand held disc type (similar to the expodisc) however that returned cooler white balance, and it seems that you have to aim it at the light source - what to do in a studio environment with multiple light sources of different temperatures?

The Color balance lens looks interesting  - does anyone use it? Link Can't seem to find it available in the UK.

Thank you.
