Send back Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f1.4?

I just received Voigtlander Nokton Classic 40mm f/1.4 MC Lens from B&H. For the first time ever, I'm thinking of returning it. My idea was to have a smaller lens for the Z7.

Negatives

  • Aperture set manually and does not appeare in EXIF (expected).
  • Very heavy for its size and feels a very different weight distribution on the Z7.
  • This is my first M mount lens, and the tab seems a clunky way to focus. I'm sure seasoned M shooters think it is sweet.
  • No matter how D8 is set, viewfinder can be too dark or too light.

By contrast, the 40mm/2 Ultron for F mount, with the FTZ

  • Weighs 80g more
  • Is about 5/16" longer
  • Is much smoother to focus
  • Has evf brightness under control
  • Has aperture set by camera, and puts it in EXIF.
  • Balances the way I am used to with the Z7 (like the too large S primes).

But a number of people on the forum have been very happy with the 40/1.4. Am I overlooking something, or is it a case of being familiar with and comfortable with M mount lenses?
What am I missing here?
