The Ridges Sanctuary - Door Peninsula WI

We spent a few days on the beautiful Doors Peninsula in Wisconsin. These photographs are from the Ridges Sanctuary - a series of ridges that mark the ebbing of Lake Michigan over the centuries. There is a boardwalk through the wet areas and a series of short trails through the ridges. Worth a visit.

All with the A6500 & the 18-135.

A bog in one of the swales between the ridges

The lower range light of Bailey's Harbor. The ships aligned with the two lights to make their way safely into the harbor.

The upper Range Light

Chicory flowers were abundant along the roadsides

Jewel weed is a jewel indeed

Fringed Gentian

Fen grass of Parnass

This is a coreopsis, I think.

Monarch butterfly

What's going on here?
