90D: What happens to the 4K resolution when using Digital IS?

I know it may be a little early for this question but I‘ve been really wondering about this for the past few days.

Not only do we get 4K uncropped and cropped, but we also get Standard and Enhanced Image Stabilization with both of those formats. So in total there are six different crops that are all 4K:

  • 1-Uncropped No IS,
  • 2-Uncropped Standard IS,
  • 3-Uncropped Enhanced IS,
  • 4-Cropped No IS,
  • 5-Cropped Standard IS,
  • 6-Cropped Enhanced IS.

It’s interesting to me what happens to the sensor data in each of these scenarios and how it crops in more but stays “4K”..
