For family/kids the X-T30 is better.

If you're using zone 3*3 for continuos focus when they are moving, there's a difference but small. Now, if you're using the face/eye AF, the X-T30 is the only one that allows to use continuos focus (the X-E3 only allows Face AF in continuos, which isn't very usefull below f5.6, unless you're shooting below 30mm more or less).

Not sure there will be an X-E4, but it will definitly bring those AF improvements to the rangefinder small body. The X-A7 is said to have better Face/eye AF than the X-T30 and X-T3, but those will receive it via a firmware update (there's been a Kaizen rumor already last week).
