10-24 f4 lens, is it useful for wide aurora, night photos?

I realise that f4 is not the brightest of Fuji lenses, however the XF10-24 is a very wide (15mm equivalent in 35mm sensor terms) lens which would maybe be great for wide angle photos at night of the Northern Lights or aurora. I cannot afford the XF8-16mm f2.8 lens, and am looking for a very wide angle lens, wider than the XF 14mm f2.8 or even the Samyang 12mm f2. Is the XF10-24 f4 useable for night photography and aurora, even though the ISO will be higher, or is there another very wide angle lens alternative? Thanks
