Honestly you’re better off getting Fuji to fix it, it’s a known issue and they should sort it for free, probably by replacing the whole eyecup assembly.

The problem with using third party parts and glue is there are likely to be fragments of the old rubber in there which may prevent the new glue from holding firm. It’s also possible that Fuji’s own fix is more comprehensive anyway; clearly there was a design fault originally which they may have resolved with something smarter than just new glue. For the record mine is a 2017 model, now almost two years old, and there’s no hint of my eyecup detaching yet.

Fuji replace the whole assembly and charge accordingly unless still under warranty.

Here in the UK it's about £14 for two JJC units or (I assume) the standard Fuji repair cost of well over £100. Possibly £180.00

Your choice.

Do you know for a fact that they charge for this? It’s a known issue with the camera and there have been many reports of if it being fixed for free out of warranty, I’d be surprised if they don’t still. The reason they replace the entire assembly is that’s obviously the correct and proper fix.

Did you notice the words "I assume" i my post?

I still assume and would be extremely surprised if they do it free of charge, given that they replace the whole assembly and not just the eyecup.

You “assumed” what the cost was in your second para, but appeared to state as fact that they charge out of warranty in your first. I don’t think they do and in fact there have been reports here that they don’t.  It’s a known issue and EU consumer law would certainly be on your side if they refused.

The fact that they have to change the whole assembly is their problem, and again suggests it’s more of a design issue than something that can be patched up at home.
