How do you grip your camera?

So I’ve recently watched a video where the commenter loved the X-T3, but he called out that the body grip was too shallow and he preferred the shutter button to be more forward (“pistol style”) rather than on top. Seems a legitimate gripe depending on how you hold things.

For me, I tend to support the body via my left hand, and for a larger lens, will actually grip the lens rather than body for support. This leaves my right hand “floating” a bit, providing light support for the weight, and comfortably able to point more upwards for access to the top mounted shutter button.

How do you grip / support things and for what camera? Do you switch it up between bodies?
