EVF’s

How do I know if what I see in an EVF is the correct exposure?

My thought is that an EVF displays the image corresponding to the light meter built in to the camera. If that is the case then that’s a simple answer to my question.

Further to my question, not so much related to EVF’s but digital photography in general, if so many people view images on digital screens, then would it be fair to say that the majority of people’s screens are NOT calibrated, so everyone would see your image differently...

How does that affect photography?

I just got in to photography and I love the artistic and technical aspect of it.
