Olympus HLD-8G grip for OMD M5 II
I'm waiting on my M5 II to get back from Oly service, and I've treated it to a genuine Olympus grip extension, the HLD-8G. It was only fifty bucks on eBay, and it's in pristine condition.
This grip only fits the M5 II, not the M5. But there is a separate battery attachment (HLD-6) that mounts on the bottom of the grip that is the same for both models of M5.
This has a separate thumb wheel and shutter button, and an earphone jack. Such a toy.
The bad thing is I'll have to remove the grip to change batteries, but it uses a coin, so it shouldn't be that much trouble.
My M5 has so many knobs, buttons, levers and switches that I wonder what I'll assign to the thumb wheel.
My purpose is to balance out the rig better using the heavy 12-40 Pro.
That, and I just like toys for my cameras.
Anybody ever use a gadget like this, and have any pointers about it?
