Watches, pens, wallets, check books and cameras

My children don’t wear watches.

And while they all have PL1 cameras I’ve given them, only my daughter actually uses hers, but she prefers the Canon EOS 350 (Rebel XT) I gave her.

They don’t even carry pens, wallets, or check books.

I went to school and I’ve worked for years so I could afford to wear a nice watch, use a nice pen, and carry both a good wallet and a check book with a leather cover. I also keep in my car or handy, a fine Olympus camera.

All that, is vanity. In today’s world my kids use a cell phone to take pictures, pay bills, do banking, and tell time.

I’ve had a cell phone since they came In a bag and were outrageously expensive.

No worse ball and chain and destroyer of privacy and solitude has ever been invented.

But from what observe, those that use Micro Four Thirds interchangeable lens cameras, seem to also prefer a real watch, a good pen, a wallet, a check book, and of course a dad blasted cell phone.

Are our cameras are tokens and trophies, and jewelry that takes pictures?

They are, for me.

How about you?
