Two SD-card slots ?

Hi

I'v seen a couple of camera reviews that state it is a bad thing if the camera does not have at least 2 SD-card slots.

Why is this so important ?

Is it that you can take more photos with two cards, or is the second card maybe "only" to backup the nr.1 card in case one card stops working ?

I don't really get it if the second card is for taking even more photos, since NOONE shoots 1500+ photos at any given event. Most of us have 64GB+ SD cards, that should be enough to take a ton of photos.

If it is a backup card, then i can understand the "problem" NOT having 2 slots, because it would be very bad if you are to take photos at a wedding and your only SD-CARD stops working.
