Raw converters keep getting better too
3

Raw converters keep getting better too and that improves what we can get from raw files compared to just a few years ago.  Sometimes I use the current Lightroom Classic (8.4 at the moment) to convert an old raw file from my Canon 60D, 30D, 300D, Sony A700, A100, KM 7D, Minolta D7i, etc.  I can compare that to earlier raw conversions done a decade or more ago using whatever version of ACR at the time and I can see a difference.  Currently there is better highlight recovery, better noise handling, etc.  Also, other converters such as C1, DXO, and so on have also improved a lot over the years.  We can get so much more from these m4/3 sensors than was possible using raw converters from years ago.  I expect that raw converters will continue to improve.
