Hi there

I just read about your problem with your K-50 and the aperture block failure. Some years ago I posted this fix for my K-30 which requires no tools or disassembly. Since then my K-30 camera works without any errors. But I had luck with my copy. Not always will this fix help, but why not give it a try? I guess the K-30 and K-50 have all the same issue with their aperture block when this failure occurs.

Cheers!

That reminds me of what I had to do to get a Tamron 70-300 lens to work on my Canon 10d.

Early on some EF lenses would give an error with early Canon dSLR bodies.

One of the work arounds was to put the lens on a body with a depth preview button.

You'd just sit there hitting the preview button to work the aperture in the lens.

Do it enough and often the lens would be useable with the camera body you were using.

The problem would come back so eventually you'd need to keep hitting the preview button.

I think I got into the habit of pressing the preview button whenever I tossed on that lens.

Take care, and Happy Shooting.
