Sharp, but too bulky and heavy

I read through most of this thread and balked at most of the response to the OP.

The OP was asked by DPreview to share his opinion of the product as per the instruction in the screenshot below:

It is a USER review. So why do the majority in this thread have a problem with it?

Do you feel that expressing disagreement over such a review is problematic or somehow not appropriate in a forum such as this? There’s certainly no issue with presenting a review... positive, negative, or neutral. However, given the fact that this is a discussion forum, is it unreasonable to expect that the review might generate some differing opinions within the thread? As long as the discourse remains civil and productive, I’m not sure what the problem is, even if people’s comments are tending towards being a bit negative.

Am I missing something here or did I perhaps misinterpret your concern?

Of course, there is nothing problematic about expressing disagreement with a user review.  My experience with the 16-55 differs from the OP's in that I didn't find the weight and size to be negative, but everyone will form his own opinion from user experience and expectations.  What I found a bit troubling was the tone of the criticism aimed at the OP that was a bit over the top.

In this thread, you may have signaled others to pile on the criticism of the OP's review. I don't think that was what you intended, but I do believe you carry some considerable weight or influence as a moderator in this forum.
