What is a camera store and why aren’t there any by me?

LOL, I tend to forget how lucky we are here to have a really decent camera store in town. That's why I mentioned mail order rentals as a possible option (such as Lensrentals in the US). They use next day shipping and have a pretty decent selection of gear (no... I'm not on commission ). Not sure what the situation is like outside the US and whether there are similar options available.

Out here in San Luis Obispo County, California our last local bricks & mortar camera store closed several years ago. If I want to play the touch and feel in the store game I am looking at a 2+ hour drive North to the Bay area, or a 90+ minute drive South to Santa Barbara. So these days my camera store of choice is B&H with Adorama running a close second.

To bring things back to the lens choices each of us make the 16-55 lives on my X-T3 except when it is replaced by the 100-400, a prime, or the 55-200.

When I choose to go smaller I have my X-E3 and a mix of appropriate lenses which work for me, including, but not limited to the 18-55, 23/2.0, 14/2.8, & 35/1.4. Naturally each of those lenses along with the 55-200 and the 16/1.4 can find themselves on any of the Fujifilm X-bodies I own which include an X-T2, an X-T3, an X-E2, and an X-E3. I really like those Fujis.

That is my opinion and at 70 I am too damn old to change my mind.
