But no one is stating a thing as fact of objective value. They are stating a fact of subjectivity the same as they would about the taste of a hamburger or soup. “It’s so good!” Doesn’t need to be prefaced or followed by “in my opinion”. Neither does a person need to add “in my opinion” about a barbel if 1kg or 15kg. It is obvious that they are stating a personal opinion or subjective fact.

I’ve seen this behaviour all over the Internet. People take normal conversations where the context is understood and blow it up to immeasurable proportions of good or bad.

i don’t think this has happened with this thread. But it still could!

And we let slide a million opinions without requiring IMO tags but somehow this is unforgivable.

nothing has been unforgivable in this thread.

I may be wrong here, but if the OP had just blithely praised the lens as perfect in size and weight no one would have a problem. At least I think you wouldn’t have weighed in. This is a fan issue more than anything. And the OP’s opinion (which I disagree with)...

Not a chance. If you or someone else had posted a review that the lens was great and it was the perfect size and weight for any Fuji body (blah, blah, blah) there would have been the same or similarly yet opposite reactive posts. This is a fact. But, I will say it again, negative reviews of equipment tend to cut off a potential users desire to test or use said equipment. Positive reviews tend to get people to test or use the equipment. This is probably a fact as well, but IMO I will leave it as a factual opinion.

Maybe we will play it your way and whenever we see an obvious opinion will we demand a person say: IMO - or else.

at times, this is a natural offspring within a thread or some succeeding threads.

Back on track, I LOVE THE LENS!! And it feels great glued to my X-T2!! (No iMO needed here)
