So it happened. My K50 after nearly 4 years and 4,000 shots has succumbed. I don't think I'll be getting it fixed (or fixing it myself - too clumsy). The K50 was great, a weather-sealed body and lens, important in this climate, at an affordable price. I don't trust a K70 because of the same issue, so what next?

What have other people done?

So to repeat what has been said and not to add a lot new, your options are:

1. Wait for the next gen APS camera (hold breath),

2. Buy a current K-70 or KP.

3. Buy a used K-5((II)s).

If you are interested in #1 or you are on a budget, then look at option #3.

If #2 I would recommend the KP, although I know others will suggest the K-70 for the lower price and flippy (vs tilting) screen.

I have a K-01, a K-3 and a KP.  I use the KP the most.  Just me.
