Not sure I’d 100% agree with that. Comments like “too large and heavy” and “this lens screams PHOTOG” are strong opinions that can invite strong or, at times, unpleasant responses. Not trolling exactly, but definitely polarizing. When I see the potential for things going awry, I’ll comment. I’d rather do that than have to yet again lock what otherwise should be a productive and useful discussion. So... agree or not, when I see that potential, I will at times weigh in in an attempt to keep things on the rails. If you don’t think the comment applies, feel free to ignore it and move on.

Cagey75, I support Jerry's replies 1,000% and not just because I have the same lens and feel that there are way too many polarizing comments concerning the lens and its size...which one has to really see, touch and use to formulate their opinion. Sure, the OP did, but, the comment(s) were presented in quite the 'unbalanced' way so as to make them generalized and 'broad-brushstroke' type comments. They then become part of the polarizing commentary that this lens isn't short of possessing - most of the negatives come from those that have only read the specs of the lens and conclude that its size and weight are not in support of the 'reason' people switch from bigger gear to Fuji APSC gear...that is it smaller.

I have been a regular participant in this forum for over 2 years and have seen what great work Jerry does, at times he cuts it off at the very beginning of a touchy subject (this is one). He is very very good at what he does and keeps things as civil and as impersonal as they can be.

We used to have a frequent forum member (the fella that unfortunately named this lens the "Brick") that would bash this lens time and time again. Declaring it consistently one of the worst lenses Fuji makes - funny how he had never even touched one for the several years he promoted this negative fuel. Then, one day, I started to tell him(via responses) to actually go out and try the lens. Well, what happened? He ended up buying it and declared it one of his, if no the, top lenses in the 30+ lens Fuji APSC lineup...

Jerry doesn't get 'nit picky or try to scare anyone off' as you suggest above. Just the opposite. And, I also asked the OP to further explain the "Screems Photog" comment...no reply as yet.
