18-150 is a convenience lens.

The 55-250 STM is better from 55-150 than the 18-150. Especially at 150.

So if you have the opportunity to change lenses, the 55-250 is better.

The 55-250mm is a bit brighter at same focal lengths.

The upside is brightness and color. I think the 55-250 punches significantly above its price point. Sharpness is also quite good. With the relatively short focusing distance at the long end of the range it makes a pretty decent semi-macro lens too.

The downside is weight and size. If 150mm is enough, an it most often is, then I will leave the 55-250 home.

So, if you go to the zoo, or go shooting birds at your bird feeder, the 55-250 is wonderful. If you go hiking, bring your 18-150, and store the 11-22 and the 32 f 1.4 in your bag too, and leave the 55-250 at home.
