Quite helpful. I am debating between this camera and Sony RX100 Mark 6.

I love the touch screen of the Canon, a real touchscreen, unlike the Sony.

Also love the grip, wish Sony did that.

The only 2 things I'm concerned about is the focus system lacks phase detect if I recall correctly, but again for my landscape shooting should be a non-issue I would think.

The other issue is the EVF. This camera uses the old design Sony had come out with, having to pull the EVF piece out. However, Sony's VI and VII have a better design.

Wish Canon had the same design on the EVF.

So, exactly what is the issue w/charging the camera?

I'm in the same boat, in playing with the G5X II and RX100 VII in the camera store, I felt one of the biggest knocks on the G5X was EVF.  I feel the two step process to pop up and use the EVF could get quite old.  One reviewer noted that G5X II had a larger pop up EVF, I don't know if that's the case but the two step process is not ideal.

The biggest stumbling block for my decision to buy the RX100 over the G5X, is the brighter lens.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but the G5X is two stops faster at the widest, and one stop and the telephoto end.  Will that one to two stops make a huge difference with indoor photography or low light conditions?  I've seen some fantastic shots made by the RX100 at night.

The other stumbling block, is the ease of controls, from what I've read (not first hand experience), its easy to adjust the settings and more dials to customize/use on the G5X II.
