Hello,

I am the Pentax shooter, so I have no experience with any Canon cameras except the S90, which I have as well. But my grandson bought the canon eos rebel t7i, as this was recommended to get at the university where he studies (media production & design). We tried his camera today for the first time. And it works similarly like my Pentax bodies, just I noticed the following:

In the "P" mode (what I am using and recommended it to my grandson as well) the camera tends to select pretty small aperture, like in a sunny day it would be: f:9.0, shutter speed 1/200, ISO 100. I prefer what my Pentax would select (actually it did so, as we were shooting together with both cameras): f:7.1, shutter speed 1/400, ISO 100. Yes, it the "P" mode he can "shift" this aperture/shutter sped combination, but isn't there a way to force the camera to make such selection right the way? Thanks in advance for the help.

I've just found ( ) that on my Pentax KP I can modify how the camera behaves in the "P" mode. So, it can prefer either wider aperture/shorter exposures, or smaller apertures/longer exposures, or something in the middle (default). Do you have an idea, whether the rebel T7i has a similar possibility? Well, I have the instruction manual but frankly, to find an answer to any question in it is extremely painful.
