I’m the OP...I purchased the M100 for its size, interchangeability and to learn. But size was not the only factor me. I still may buy m mounted lenses but at least with the adapter I can get more budget friendly lenses as I continue to learn.

I’m coming from a bulky FZ series Panasonic lumix that served me well (10 years) and I took on all vacations and kept it mostly in auto mode, and frankly my iPhone was doing a better job lol.

Obviously everyone has their own priorities.

My only thought was that if size and weight is not a important driver, then perhaps something like a SL2 + 18-55mm might have been a better option (probably a more capable camera with a better battery life) ?

Refurbished for $439 (possibly better buys out there ? I live in Australia), which is around 400 euro, which is not a huge amount more than the euro prices for M100 + adapter + 50mm f1.8 mentioned above. Still a compact body (although not as small as a M100), and natively takes EF-S & EF lenses.

Here is a quick comparison (ignore the Sony cameras as I wasn't sure how to get rid of them);

Not such a big difference once the adapter is included.

cool comparison site...since my wife will take the camera once in awhile, the M100 body is great  , I may end up getting the efm 22mm for her
