Snowy Egret's Tongue ...

Snowy Egret with tongue out; San Francisco Bay Lands (Palo Alto)

The photo above was just a lucky shot as part of a burst sequence. I didn't realize that I had caught him/her(?) with it's tongue out until I looked at the photos on my computer. The tongue is most visible if one views photo in full size/resolution.

Lastly, not a bird, but it does have wings. I liked this shot because of the lighting, detail, and boKeh.

Coyote Hills Park (Fremont near San Francisco Bay)

All of the above were taken with Panasonic GX-9 & Lumix/Leica 100-400mm lens.
