Sony RX100 VI Shut Down/Off Time

Hi Everyone,

My first SONY camera is the RX100 VI.

I have noticed that no matter the focal length before shutting down, the camera takes approx. 6-7 seconds to retract the lens into the body.

I went to the store where I bought the camera, and they told me that it is absolutely normal for the camera to take this long to shut down, and it had a "complicated process" that must be followed before the camera retracts.

To me, this defeats the purpose of the "small but agile" point and shoot camera aspect. I am taking this camera travelling, and it will be in and out of my pocket frequently -- If I must wait such a long duration before putting it in my pocket, it will really hamper the "on-the-go" aspect I bought it for.

Unsure if this is infact normal for the camera or perhaps I have a defective unit?

Thank you!

Sony RX100 VI
