Did 4K video kill the DSLR time lapse video?

Reason I ask is, at one time between 2010 and 2017 there were many DSLR shooters who did TIME LAPSE only videos in 4K.  You know the ones, very high quality imaging, mechanical sliders that shoot long exposure night sky landscapes, and city nightlife.  Most of them done in 4K for DVDs, YouTube, and other media.  But those seem to be taking a back seat to other 4K video.

Today, hybird shooters shoot a mix of time lapse, 4K slow motion, regular speed 4K, and photos.  All in one video.

And, there are less Time Lapse only videos in 4K.  So, it makes me wonder if 4K video killed the DSLR time lapse video.

What's your observation?
