Fuji camera repair UK

A month or so ago my XT3 parted company with my tripod and fell against a hard floor.  At first glance nothing seemed to have been damaged and the lens was unmarked.  The camera continued to work perfectly as before.  Only later did I see that there was a pronounced scuff on the upper rim of one side of the ISO dial and more recently I discovered that the knob itself was distorted.

As I like to keep my kit in pristine condition, I decided to visit an independent camera repair workshop which by good fortune is only a few miles from where I live.

I visited the workshop where the proprietor explained that Fuji would not sell spares to other repairers and the only option was to send the camjera in to Fuji where a standard charge of £190 would apply - even to relatively minor damage.

Sadly I concluded that I would have to live with the cosmetic damage as I can not justify that sort of expenditure for cosmetic damage.

It did occur to me that this sort of attitude on the part of Fuji might, if more widely known, discourage some buyers. It is certainly not very friendly.
