Hi

I did some test shots using white balance bracketing function for skin tones. I then set the best bracketed shot as custom WB but when I shot another test the pic had a very heavy green cast.I repeated the exercise just incase I did something wrong but same result. Can the custm WB be set this way?

Did you shoot something white in the light to be used to set the custom WB. Shooting the skin tone will not work. A white, unlined piece of paper will do.

No I tried to shoot for the skin tones.

You need something white or with no color cast to use as a white balance picture. Even a gray card will work. Definately not skin.

Pity the bracketed pic looked good.Heres another, as I waited for a reply I fiddled with my 10D which has a BD-EG3 battery pack attached that used to be on my old D30. I noticed the shutter button nor the function dial on the grip wouldnt work. Are these not availble to use when attached to the 10D?
