How good does a lens have to be to take advantage of the a7RIV?

I just conducted a test to see how a not-very-good lens did when used on a 33x44 mm sensor with the same 3.76 um pixel pitch as the a7RIV.

Turns out this so-so lens, examined on-axis, has visible aliasing under many conditions even with the fine pitch of the a7RIV, indicating that the sensor can't resolve all the detail that the lens projects on it.

No surprise to me, but it certainly contradicts those folks here who are saying that you'll need great lenses to take advantage of the resolution of the a7RIV.
