Landscape photography with 50mm?
1

Hello. If you had to choose between a kit lens 18-55mm and a 50mm 1.8 for landscape photography, what would you pick? I know that 50mm is best for portraits and shallow dof with wide aperture, but I'm wondering if it could still deliver sharp images with deep dof. I recently really got into landscapes and I'm willing to buy a ND filter to shoot sunsets and seascapes, but these 2 lenses have different filter threads, therefore I want to be sure on what lens I'll be using. I tried to make a comparison myself between the 2 lenses with same settings (almost same focal lenght*, smallest aperture), but I'm not sure I can tell the difference  (ofc 50mm is way better at widest aperture). What do you guys think? Sry if this was a dumb question but I'm kinda new to photography

*i'm using a dx camera
