Gripe about color accuracy with Sony

background: I have a sony A7ii.

I have a FE 50mm F1.8
I have a CanonFD 50m F1.4
I use Capture One

I decided to set up a color comparison shot of my front yard, with blue sky (which is the most difficult to capture accurately for Sony, apparently)

Put camera on manual, same settings. F56, 1000/s, ISO100

Photos were fairly similar, with the Canon one being slightly tinged yellow, as I have come to expect.

I go through the hassle of generating an ICC color profile for each camera+lens combination, with an X-rite passport.

I apply the generated profiles to the original images, and now the have the same color as each other. Which is great an all, meaning I can still use ye old Canon FD lenses and not worry about the color cast.

But what gets me is...

The calibrated colors are now a lot closer to...

a reference photo I took with my iphone 8+, no tweaks.

If Apple can get it right, "out of the box",no tuning needed ...
with a much less expensive piece of hardware...

then why cant sony? at least with its OWN LENSES??
