When Olympus released the 4/3 system, their forefront sale point is the lens is telecentric. Thus their telecentric lenses are sharp and bright from corner to corner. Even the low cost lens (kits included).

When they changed from  4/3 to micro4/3, they drop this telecentric spec out (almost) completely !

If you compare image from the 4/3 lens to the new m4/3 lens, you'll see what this no-more-telecentric lenses lack. However, with less and less 4/3 lenses in the market, there's no more comparision. The sharpness, the bright corner and all the goodies of 4/3 have gone .. forever.

WHY they has dropped the highly toasted TC?

Because it's hard and expensive. Both techno and eco. Period.
