HSS using 2 (or more?) AF 540 FGZ flashes

I use a Pentax K3 camera and I have 2 AF 540 FGZ flashes. I have a few HSS questions I hope someone can answer as manuals and web info are often tricky to understand!

1) The flash manuals say that it is possible to use the 2 flashes "combined" in HSS , using a dedicated radio channel. I assume this means that  BOTH flashes trigger several times  in the short time frame, simultaneously? Is that correct, or does the 1st flash simply "instruct" the 2nd flash alone to fire in HSS?

2) Can both HSS flashes be placed away from the camera, (of course one flash would need to be attached by cable to the camera's hot-shoe I think).

3) Is it possible to have MORE than 2 Pentax flashes firing in HSS? Could I for example have 4 HSS flashes firing in synchronization, all triggering multiple flashes in the short time frame (say 1/1000 sec).

Thanks a lot for any help !
