I thought about it.  But I want to see if Ricoh's chosen repair service can  fix product after a minor fall while switched off.  You'd think that the lens would be safe. The camera landed on the back side.  LCD did not crack.   Imagine if a smart phone stopped working after such a fall. Sure, the glass may be damaged, but the phone and camera still worked.  I really believe that there may be a flaw in the overall design of the camera to have broken so easily.

Well, there will be a 90 day warranty on the repair. When returned, I'll put it through a rigurous test cycle.  I will not do a drop test.
