Hi,

it seems my TG5 even with the FTON01 cannot be used with a dome and over/under photos or if it can it may need a considerable amount of money (more than 600USD). Is there any other alternative? I think the most economical one is the use of a GoPro and a cheap dome from Amazon ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N4F0UMF/?coliid=I1VM18I6MPJQZN&colid=3EEK4DT05YJQ6&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it )... Am I right?

Thx

I think it is hard to beat the gopro+dome.  I have been thinking about how to do this myself.  I think one way would to get one of these dicapak, water proof camera bags, then since I already have a wireless shutter release, I could either keep that dry, or use a small sandwich type bag.  I would probably use one of my wide angle lenses, so I wouldn't need to worry about focusing so much, my 17mm starts infinity at like 6ft-9ft, depending on the hyperfocal distance.  I think underwater, I would pretty much just shoot wide open.

Another option I have been toying with is building a housing around the nikkonos 35mm waterproof lens, which are inexpensive, but the nikkonos nex adapters are a premium.

I think ultimately I don't have enough clean water to justify doing it, but it might be fun with kids.

I would be interested to see where this thread goes.
