I was thinking should I rent a 100-400 or a Sigma 600mm as well? I figure my wide angle and 50mm can do the walking around shots...but for action im not sure 70-300 will be good enough.

Thoughts? Ive never been to an airshow. I bought the "PhotoPit" tickets, so i get awesome seating.

I have in the past got some decent stuff at shows with the 70-300L and also the 100-300 Sigma EX f4 that preceded it in my kit (although I did occasionally use a 1.4 TC with that).   The Canon 100-400 definitely trumps both though (I currently own the Mk II version) and you'll see a lot of the Mk I and II versions used at shows.
