M-mount will thrive now...
2

As I´ve posted in the APS-C DSLR forum, it seems like the m-mount will now become Canon´s mainstay.

We´ll probably see some updates of existing EF lenses, but certainly not EF-S.

My guess is that Canon will very soon market much-improved M-bodies (silent shutter, Canon? Flexible Auto-ISO? Tracking AF á la A6400?) and hopefully also offer more native M-mount glass.

While FF DSLRs will stay in Canon´s line up for several more years, I really don´t see this happening with APS-C DSLRs. Which means, that the so far rather obscure M-mount system will all of a sudden become Canon´s mainstay. And why not? It´s a good system, so far only hampered by sub-par bodies and a small native glass line up. I´d really love a M5 Mark II with features comparable to a A6400.
