30D with ERROR 99 message / worth it to fix?

I have an old 30D which is in beautiful condition (visually). About once a year I like to take it out and shoot just for fun, but recently I've run into the error 99 issue. Sometimes the camera lets me take one shot before showing the error message, sometimes I don't even get one shot. I occasionally get another error message indication the card is full when it isn't. For the error 99, I've tried all the common remedies...  cleaning contacts, removing and then reinstalling batteries and cards... nothing works. Has anyone found out a new magical fix for this? If not, is it worth it to have it repaired? Or should I just toss the camera, with the option of purchasing another 30D on the cheap?
