If you mean that you're keeping the camera in the pack, the Lowepro Flipside series lets you spin the pack around and open it while it's at your waist. This is reasonably fast and doesn't require that you remove the pack.

If you're carrying a pack and want the camera outside it, I guess you'll need some kind of strap like a Black Rapid.

Just to be clear I am looking for something that will allow me to keep the camera outside of, but attached to, the backpack.
