Using Fringer EF-FX adapter on X-T20

I notice the X-T20, like my X-E2 (and probably other higher Fuji models), does not have a dedicated "P" (programmed exposure) setting on the dial. To set "programmed AE" you put the shutter dial to "A" and aperture control switch on the lens to "A". The X-T100 and X-A1 I have a dedicated "P" setting to allow the camera control the aperture, shutter and ISO automatically. This is a good idea because the kit lens set I bought with the X-A1 (XC 15-60 & 50-230 mm) do not have manual aperture ring or an aperture switch on the lens like the more expensive XF series.

Now the problem goes to using the Fringer adapter. Since there is no aperture control switch on either the regular or "PRO" models of the adpater, there is no communication to tell the camera you want it to control the aperture as well. This is not a problem on the X-T100 because of the dedicated "P" setting. On the X-T20, however, when you put the shutter dial to "S" (ie. camera controls shutter speed), it automatically defaults to aperture priority mode (my regular Fringer model has no manual aperture control ring on the adapter, and the camera allows me to change the aperture using the front dial).

This is a niggling hassle because sometime I forget I put the aperture on a specific setting which may be inappropriate in other circumstances eg. wide aperture while taking general scenic photos.

I can only find one workaround so far, which is the "AUTO" mode. I don't like the "Advanced SR Auto" which supposedly matches the mode to the specific object / scene you are taking, because it uses multi-point AF-C / tracking to start off with (probably to capture action in case it thinks you are taking sports photos). I would stick to AF-S and spot autofocus to maximize the autofocus performance with the Fringer adapter. Otherwise, you can put the camera into specific modes eg. landscape, action etc, but again it comes to the fact that "I tend to forget ....".

If anyone has any good solution please let me know.
