Re: Canon Profit and the camera industry

This change in profit projection is most likely coming from Canon's semiconductor and office equipment business in specific markets. I believe Canon has made most of their financial adjustments for the imaging division. Although this new change is not good for Canon as a whole, they have already shifted their strategy to address a rapidly declining and changing camera market. FYI, their Imaging Division accounts for about 25% of Canon's total sales and camera sales represent about 15% of total sales although the ID profit contribution is disproportionately higher for the overall business. Today, Canon is well positioned to be a survivor out of the camera industry shakeout that will be occurring.
