The 500 MPixel/sec sustained descaler/demosaicer limit of the BIONZ appears to STILL be present. (Or, if it has increased, it hasn't increased by enough to make full-sensor-width oversampling possible like it is with the A9 and A7M3)

Which means that the additional pixels are a liability for video work.

Maybe the case, I really don't know for sure but lets be honest, why would you by an a7RIV if video is your target use? Sure its nice to have both in one body but not sure I would buy the A7RIV if video was my usage case. Without the A7SIII or A7SIV I would save my money and get an A7III still and it would save you ~$2000.

The new phased array MIS mic? That was (strangely) launched with the R4 despite the R4's deficiencies for video compared to the M3.

If the R4 could do full-width oversampled video the results would have been very impressive. (The R4 is close to the resolution required to do 2:1 oversampling, which would give full color information at every single pixel position. Even if the recording was chroma-subsampled, you would have much lower risk of demosaicing artifacts.)
