MFT companion for FF for travel?

I'm looking for a way to get more reach with less weight when traveling (not for wildlife).

I use a Canon 5D4 with a 24-105 when traveling. When there's less foreground interest, I prefer to zoom in, and the 105 end is not useful for those cases. The ultra-wide 16-35 view doesn't interest me so much at present.

Of late, I've been considering going with micro 4/3 Panasonic G9 with the Panasonic/Leica 100-400 instead. The way I am thinking about it, is, the 24-105 on FF would be great for wide angle and low light conditions, while the G9 with 100-400 would give me more reach.

I'd like to know if that's a good option, from people who may have used FF + MFT setups.

The weight math I've done so far is:

70-200 f/4 - 780g
1.4TCIII weight - 200g
canon 80D weight - 730g
Total: 1.71 kg
Max reach: 280 mm + whatever magnification the crop sensor adds

Leica 100-400 weight 985g
G9 weight 579g
Total: 1.564 kg
Max reach: 400mm + whatever magnification the m4/3 sensor adds

5D4 + 24-105 = 890g + 670g = 1.5 kg --> this is the current walk around kit

Thanks in advance!
