Don't own the MC20 but unless the combo is superior to the 40-150+MC14 it will require stopping down a little for sharp results. My suspicion is the 100-400 will be a bit better in a comparison of both wide open. With that said the early MC20 images look quite promising.

Hare shot is terrific. Looks very similar to our jackrabbits, which are blazing fast.

Cheers,

Rick, limited work so far with the MC-20 but literally tens of thousands of shots with the 100-400, the potential from my tests is that the MC-20 on the 40-150 pro is capable of images at least as sharp as the 100-400 at 300mm wide open (much to my surprise and delight )

300mm wide open at approx 30ft

Where there will, I think, be a difference is in the image stabilisation abilities between the two at long range and lower shutter speed, where the 100-400 should have the advantage but I can't say that definitively as  I have no results yet. This will result in images that look less sharp from the MC20 combo because of movement blur (hand-held of course, different if shot from a 'pod)

So much to learn, so little time left to do it!
