Do sensors now outlast the rest of the camera?

I've been using digital cameras almost since the beginning, from point and shoot to very expensive models like the Fuji S2 and S3 Pro bodies. For the first 10 years or so, dead and hot pixels started showing up within 1-3 years.

But the latest cameras I've owned, including the oldest Nikon D300s, have never had a single pixel failure. Is this the new norm or am I just a fortunate example of 1? BTW, I never shoot video and run my Olympus EM1 bodies exclusively on the eshutter.
