Buy another one. They sell for around $30 these days.

A blower bulb costs $1 , you can use it again when the next bit of dirt ends up on the focus screen ( or sensor ) .

Shame the o.p couldn't be bothered to post back on if it's a bit of dirt sat on the screen or if it is within the viewfinder assembly , in which case , as you say  replacement might be their better option .

.

I've had one or two older cameras whose silver ( aluminium ) coating has degraded and come away , usually caused by degrading foam in the housing . This give big black marks in the viewfinder that could easily be mistaken for dirt .

Rather than pay for repair or replacement I've "re-silvered " it by dabbing a bit of silver ink/paint over the missing spots from one of those pens you can get.

Although slightly duller , it works just fine .

The last one I did this with was a pentaprism for a Bronica ETRSi .

A repair would likely to have cost £50 or £60 at least , a replacement would have cost £30 .

The d.i.y fix cost nothing apart from 15 minutes of my time .

Taking the top plate of an SLR isn't for everyone though .
