I have three meters, A Gossen, The Buff CyberCommander and a Sekonic LiteMaster Pro L-478D-U.   Of course, each camera has its built in.

As I stated, I figure the Output levels on the Buff site were probably for marketing only. I just wanted to know whether they had a practical use beyond that.   If they relate directly to lens stops, then yes, they can be used as a kind of quick exposure check to use when the flash/light meter isn't available or to sort of validate what the meter is putting out.
