$200 IQ ?

Ok it wasn't quite $200, in total it's $223, but let me back up just a bit. There's so much hype around the newest gear, and indeed it's exciting. But like i mentioned in another thread recently, it's like reading about the newest Lamborghini, impressive but it won't be in my hands and thus is ultimately makes no practical difference to me.

But i am amazed at the amazing tech we can get now for such low prices (perhaps today's Lambo will be the same bargains in ten years...). One example, for anybody wondering what can be had for how much, is my D300 i just picked up for $159, combined with my $64 off brand 100mm macro, $223 never looked so good.

The color is great, i don't have to fake my bokeh, and the lens is even nice and sharp. For the record the D300 can be had for as low as $110 in working condition but the shutter counts are much highe (mine has 6800 clicks)r. If you have a better example of IQ on a budget please share, there's no such thing as too many bargains, especially with new camera prices being what they are.

For my uses these newest cameras aren't worth 10 or 20 of my D300 and lenses, but that's me. To each their own.

I'm told that I don't know a thing
But maybe with some time alone
We'll both learn what it means
I feel as though I owe you more
Than just these words of gratitude you read
So before it ends, my friend
I'll teach you how to, bleed...." -
